Surprise, surprise. Morgan Freeman has another number one movie on Netflix.

The latest? The 2013 hit Now You See Me, which centers around a talented magician (Jessie Eisenberg) and his team of illusionists called the Four Horsemen, who are using their skills to drain the bank accounts of corrupt individuals and, in turn, funneling that money to their captivated audience members. If all of this sounds too good to be true, it is, as federal agents are on to them. Freeman’s role in all of this, you ask? A former magician, using his background and expertise to work with the FBI in capturing the horsemen.

Upon its release, Now You See Me grossed $351.7 million at the box office, receiving mixed reviews from critics. The film, however, was a major hit amongst movie lovers and spawned a follow-up that was released in 2016. A third installment is slated for release on November 14, 2025.

This is proven by the 70 percent Popcornmeter rating on Rotten Tomatoes from audience members, one of whom writes, "Now You See Me has a unique storyline with famous actors, and the combination of magic and crime is quite rare." Another fan adds, "This was cerebrally entertaining without the usual vocal or visual profanity. Great job on the movie. The characters meshed well, story line consistent, acting by all was superb."

It's been over a decade since I've seen Now You See Me, so I'll definitely be rewatching this weekend before the third film comes out.

You can stream Now You See Me on Netflix now.
