We're always on board to watch Morgan Freeman flicks and Netflix is pointing us in the right direction.
London Has Fallen is currently on Netflix's top 10 list and we're already adding it to our weekend queue. The action thriller sits at #6 on the site's most-watched films along with other big-name thrillers like A Walk Among the Tombstones and Windfall. It seems like viewers (including us) are into action, twists and turns and suspenseful moments.
The 2016 film is actually the second installment in the Has Fallen series. The sequel to Olympus Has Fallen follows Secret Service agent Mike Banning (played by Gerard Butler) on another mission. He's tasked with protecting the United States President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart) from terrorists.
While the first movie was mostly set in and around the White House, the action in this flick is in London during a British Prime Minister's funeral. Throughout the movie, Banning must keep a close eye on Asher and keep him safe, especially when world leaders of the G7 are being targeted left and right.
Freeman plays a vital role as Vice President Alan Trumbull, who helps Banning and works on tracking down the terrorists. Along with Butler, Eckhart and Freeman, the movie also stars Alon Moni Aboutboul (The Dark Knight Rises), Angela Bassett (Black Panther, 9-1-1) and Robert Wallace Forster Jr. (Breaking Bad).
And if you're not ready to say goodbye to Banning—and Freeman's acting chops—just yet, there is a third film called Angel Has Fallen to complete the trilogy. So, what are you waiting for?
