By the look of things, there is absolutely nothing plastic about Margot Robbie's upcoming portrayal of Barbie. After keeping much of the project hush-hush for some time now, Warner Bros. Pictures has blessed us with a new visual from the highly-anticipated Barbie movie which was written by powerhouse couple Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach of Lady Bird and Marriage Story fame (respectively).

Though the studio didn't offer up much more detail besides the film's release date—July 21, 2023—they certainly left us pining for more. In the sole image, Robbie could be seen with a million dollar smile, donning a blue and white outfit reminiscent of the matchy-matchy ensembles we all dressed our Barbies in back in the day, while propped in the renowned convertible the '80s doll was known for.
In addition to Robbie starring as the beloved toy, Barbie will also feature Ryan Gosling as Ken, as well as Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Issa Rae, Michael Cera and Kate McKinnon. Gerwig is directing.
Needless to say, with such a star-studded cast, you know what we'll be doing July 21, 2023.
