A beloved series is experiencing a second life on Netflix.

First premiering in 2020 on STARZ and running for three seasons, Hightown currently holds the fourth spot on Netflix’s top ten. The show centers around the life of Jackie Quiñones, a National Marine Fisheries Service agent who has her daily life and affinity for partying disrupted when she gets tasked with investigating serious crimes in Cape Cod. Jackie is forced to battle her issues with sobriety, along with other personal issues, while simultaneously battling the challenges of her career.

This also includes being at odds with Sgt. Ray Abruzzo (Osito), a brash member of the Cape Cod Interagency Narcotics Unit who eventually becomes disgraced and is taken off the force, leading to more stress for Jackie as she has to pick up the pieces upon his departure.

Described as gripping and suspenseful, Hightown currently has a 69 percent rating on the Rotten Tomatoes Popcornmeter, as the show has quickly gained new fans with its Netflix debut. “I absolutely binge-watched this series,” writes one reviewer. “I thought the characters grew individually, and were deeply connected. I truly enjoyed the storyline and progression of this series!"

Another adds, “This show is the real deal. It takes the viewer on a journey deep into the world of drugs and sex, and really pulls the viewer in. Excellent acting and writing on this one. This is a must-watch for sure.”

Hightown seems like it is right up my alley, and I can’t wait to give it a watch.
