How Gwyneth Paltrow Is Making Women Everywhere Crave More Wellness

Gwyneth Paltrow is used to being front and center (she is an Academy Award winner, after all). However, when it came to taking a step back from her Hollywood career, she was a bit more hesitant. “It took a lot of guts, in a way, to plant my flag,” she says of her decision to move into the lifestyle space almost ten years ago and start her now buzzing brand, Goop.

It began as a personal project. Although Paltrow admits she had “no idea” how to start or monetize the site, she says she knew she had two things: heart and vision. She officially accepted the role of CEO in 2016 and makes it a point to be hands-on through everything, including all of Goop’s product development. (That includes making their “drinkable skin care” product taste like her favorite childhood drink, Tang.)
