The Fan-Favorite ‘Euphoria’ Character Who Wasn’t Supposed to Survive Season One

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

Undoubtedly, Fezco (also known as Fez) has become a scene-stealer in the second season of HBO’s popular teen drama, Euphoria. Putting aside his heated confrontation with Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi), fans have been quite vocal about finding his character and overall backstory very intriguing.

Fez, who is played by Angus Cloud, was first introduced to audiences as a drug dealer who cares deeply about Rue’s (Zendaya) sobriety. While he has made the jump from minor character to fan-favorite, Fez nearly had a completely different fate in season one.

In an interview with GQ, the 27-year-old actor revealed that writer and creator Sam Levinson originally wanted to kill off his character in the first season. Supposedly, Fez was never going to make it to the season two premiere.

“Apparently, because they cast me off the street, I guess the character of Fezco was [never meant to stick around],” he told the outlet. “I don’t even know how. I never saw that script. No one ever told me.”

So, how did Cloud find out about his character’s (almost) untimely fate? Well, it seems his co-star, Elordi, told him the shocking truth. “It was one day when we were filming the pilot that I think Jacob told me, he was like, 'Oh yeah, you didn’t know? Your character gets [imitates brains getting blown out],'” Cloud explained.

“It never ended up happening,” he continued. “I think that they liked what I did and so they decided to keep me alive and let me rock. I don’t know how I was going out, but hopefully, I would’ve gone out like a G.”

So, there could have been a show without Fez??!! We simply don’t want to imagine it.
