2 Criminally Underrated Shows You Need to Stream RN, According to Our Editors

In the world of streaming content, there are clearly the heavy hitters that everyone talks about. There are the ones that certainly live up to the hype—hello, Afterparty and Severance—and there are the ones that fall flat (*cough* The Bubble *cough*). And, of course, there are shows like Bridgerton season two that are divisive to the point that one of our entertainment podcast hosts loved it and the other hated it.

But luckily, PureWow’s new weekly entertainment podcast Stream On also dives into the shows that not enough people are talking about. And on this week’s episode, co-hosts Phil Mutz and Rachel Gulmi revealed which two must-watch streaming options are criminally underrated.

Mutz, PureWow’s VP of News and Entertainment, gushed about the crime drama Criminal: United Kingdom, featuring such big names as Kit Harington (oh heyyyy, Jon Snow) and David Tennant. The Netflix crime thriller features two seasons (and several international spin-offs) and Mutz recommends it for anyone who loved Mindhunter or The Sinner.

Gulmi, PureWow’s Managing Editor of Branded Content, went with an HBO Max option, Search Party, a dark comedy featuring five seasons and starring Alia Shawkat (AKA Maeby from Arrested Development).

Hear both of their full reviews (and why these shows need to be on your watch list) below at the 16:05 timestamp.

Criminal U.K is part of Netflix's Criminal franchise—a unique take on the police procedural that spans four European countries—the United Kingdom, France, Spain and Germany.

The official synopsis for the United Kingdom edition reads, “Within the walls of an interrogation room, London investigators question suspects accused of grievous crimes until the truth comes to light.”

Meanwhile, according to IMDB, “Search Party is a dark comedy about four self-absorbed twenty-somethings who become entangled in an ominous mystery when a former college acquaintance suddenly disappears.”

The full Stream On episode also reveals exactly why The Bubble on Netflix is so bad and unveils some exciting news for fans of Squid Game.

Listen, subscribe and remember to keep calm and Stream On.
