Sorry, ‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 Fans: I Think Penelope Deserves Better Than Colin Bridgerton

Now don’t get me wrong…I love an underdog story. But Penelope is one of my favorite characters, and it’s hard to watch her be pushed to the side on multiple occasions while Colin tries to pursue other women. 

In my humble opinion, Penelope is a total catch. Not only does she have a heart of gold, but she’s also incredibly smart. I mean, she’s spent years masquerading as Lady Whistledown and hasn’t been caught by anyone (excluding Eloise).

On the other hand, Colin is a ladies man and he knows it. While I hope (key word: hope) he comes around and gives Penelope the attention she deserves, I’m not totally sold on him being “the one.” Penelope deserves someone who won’t overlook her, who will cherish her for who she is and who will give her the time of day. So far, Colin has done none of these things. Instead, he’s taking advantage of her kindness.

Sure, it’s possible that our ‘cad’ does a complete 180 (like happens in seasons one and two), but wouldn’t it be way more exciting if Penelope rejects him in the end? It isn’t likely, but until Colin gets his act together, I’ll remain skeptical of their relationship.
