Netflix Drops Trailer for New Dennis Quaid Movie ‘Blue Miracle’—and This One’s Already Pulling at the Heartstrings

Dennis Quaid and Jimmy Gonzales are pulling at our heartstrings, thanks to this brand-new trailer.

Netflix just dropped the first official teaser for Blue Miracle, which is based on a true (and seriously incredible) story.

The trailer introduces the heartwarming story line, which follows a man (Gonzales) who’s determined to go above and beyond to save his orphanage: Casa Hogar. To do so, he teams up with a local fisherman (Quaid) and enters the world’s biggest fishing tournament in hopes of winning the grand prize.

“I know why my mom left me now,” an orphan says in the clip. “So, I could help you win this tournament.”

In addition to Quaid and Gonzales, the movie also stars Bruce McGill (Wayne), Raymond Cruz (Hector), Dana Wheeler-Nicholson (Tricia), Fernanda Urrejola (Becca), Anthony Gonzales (Omar), Nathan Arenas (Hollywood), Chris Doubek (Gary), Miguel Angel Garcia (Moco), Frank Gallegos (Officer Berto) and Silverio Gutierrez (Tweety).

Blue Miracle was directed by Julio Quintana (The Vessel), while Chris Dowling (Run the Race) and Julio Quintana (To the Wonder) wrote the screenplay. Terry Hemmings (Fireproof) and Miguel Chapa (Pepe & Santo vs. America) served as executive producers.

Blue Miracle will hit Netflix on May 27. When it does, we wouldn’t be surprised if the movie claims a spot on Netflix’s list of most-watched flicks among the likes of Stowaway, American Me and Thunder Force.
