’60s Hair Will Be the Biggest Trend of 2020, According to a Celeb Hairstylist

The new decade is nearly upon us (how is it almost 2020?!) and you bet a new set of hair trends is ready and raring to go. When we chatted with celebrity hairstylist Justine Marjan during a Celebeauty Sit-Down about what look she expects to be big in 2020, she was happy to give us the scoop.

Marjan, who has worked with everyone from Ashley Graham and Karlie Kloss to Kim Kardashian and Dorit Kemsley, said she sees “the resurgence of ’60s styles like volume at the crown, flipped up ends, voluminous ponytails, and full, healthy looking hair” coming back in a major way in the New Year. Not sure what that is exactly? Just take a look at Kloss’s style above.

Coincidentally, Marjan’s favorite holiday beauty look is ahead of the trend. “I love a flipped out bob!” she told PureWow. So, how can we get the look ourselves without the help of a professional or a time capsule? The celeb hairstylist explained, “Style it with a center part and tuck behind the ears or with a side part and hold one side back with KitschxJustine hair accessories.” She added that she personally uses the ghd Soft Curl Iron ($199) to “flip the ends up,” then she seals them with Tresemme Micro Mist hairspray in extend ($23).

If volume and fullness are an issue, Marjan suggests using “a Hidden Crown topper style extension ($450) to add volume at the crown or to camouflage layers.” She notes that she loves OLLY Undeniable Beauty ($12) gummy vitamins to promote healthy hair from the inside out, as well.
