Taylor Swift Takes Us to a Pastel Wonderland in New ‘ME!’ Music Video

After 13 days (touché) of pastel-themed teasers, Taylor Swift is finally giving fans what they’ve been waiting for.

Last night, the 29-year-old singer released an all-new single and music video titled “ME!” and it’s bound to become our go-to self-empowerment jam.

Naturally, the clip begins with a CGI snake slithering down a cobblestone path. Right when it’s about to strike, the creature explodes into hundreds of pastel butterflies.

The video goes on to show Swift arguing—in French, we might add—with Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie in front of their two cats daughters: Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson.

The rest of the four-minute clip features musical-like performances, consisting of floating clouds, rainbows, unicorns and, well, you get the picture.

Lyrics include “I know that I went psycho on the phone,” “trouble’s gonna follow where I go” and “I promise that you’ll never find another like me!”

Swift wrote “ME!” with Urie and Joel Little. The “Bad Blood” singer also co-directed the video alongside Dave Meyers.

The song comes just 13 days after Swift teased new music on Instagram. After debuting a countdown clock, the musician posted a series of photos featuring butterflies, rainbows, unicorns and anything pastel. We now know the images are stills from the video. Go figure.

Although Swift didn’t say if there’s an album to accompany the new song (*crosses fingers*), she and Urie are scheduled to perform “ME!” during the 2019 Billboard Music Awards on May 1, so we’ll take what we can get.
