There Will Be a Clothing Line to Accompany Taylor Swift’s New Album ‘Lover’

New music isn’t the only thing Swifties have to look forward to this summer.

In honor of Taylor Swift’s new album, Lover, the 29-year-old singer revealed that she’s teaming up with Stella McCartney to launch a coordinating clothing line.

It all started earlier today when Swift went on Instagram Live and confirmed that she’s releasing her newest album on August 23. (The record will include Swift’s first track, “ME!”, along with her new single, “You Need to Calm Down.”)

While discussing the accompanying collection, Swift revealed that her decision to work with the fashion designer, 47, was a no-brainer. “She’s been a friend for a really long time, and also just a woman I respect so much,” she said. “I respect what she creates, how she creates it. There’s so much whimsy and imagination and romance to the clothing that she designs, and I’ve worn a lot of her stuff recently.”

Although Swift didn’t divulge any further details about the collaboration, she confirmed that the collection will match the album’s “romantic” aesthetic. “[McCartney’s] heard the new album, and this new collaboration is inspired by the Lover album,” she continued. “I’m so excited about that, and really excited that she would want to collaborate in this way.”

Swift is no stranger to Stella McCartney. Not only did she wear the brand’s rainbow “Eclypse” sneakers at Wango Tango earlier this month, but she also wore a blue princess gown by the designer at the 2019 BAFTAs back in February. Her two cats, Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson, even have a Stella McCartney pet carrier, which retails for the insane price of $2,000.

New music and a new wardrobe? August can’t come soon enough.
