Taylor Schilling Is Ready to Say Goodbye to ‘OITNB’

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

After six seasons, Taylor Schilling is finally mentally prepared to say goodbye to her Orange Is the New Black character, Piper Chapman.

ICYMI: The season six finale of OITNB saw Piper released from prison early, leading us to wonder where that leaves the hit Netflix series, which has already been renewed for a seventh (and likely final) season.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Schilling confirmed that season seven will follow Piper’s life outside of prison, although it’s unclear whether the plot will mimic that of Orange Is the New Black author Piper Kiernan’s actual life post-incarceration.

Regardless of her character’s season seven journey, Schilling says she’s come to peace with the show’s end.

“We’ve had a lucky run, but there’s always this part that’s sort of ready for the end,” the Orange Is the New Black star explained. “You go in and you begin it ready for the end. It’s a very bittersweet and also beautiful way to exist in the world. So the answer is, yeah. I think I’m ready. I have all the feelings. I’m very excited for what comes next.”

The seventh season’s premiere date has not yet been announced, but we’re not sure we’ll handle the close of the series as gracefully as Schilling.

We hate goodbyes.
