Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Just Gave Us Another Peek into Her Home—& It’s Surprisingly Full of Bold Colors

Just a few short weeks ago, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, gave us an up-close look at her fine china collection. And today, thanks to her latest virtual royal engagement, she’s giving us a glimpse into another (more colorful) part of her home.

This week, the countess formally opened a new emergency field hospital in Sunderland. The NHS Nightingale Hospital North East, which has the capacity to provide 460 more beds, was officially declared open by Sophie via video chat from her home in Windsor. During the call, the countess thanked the local government teams and other contributors, whose combined efforts helped create the new facility.

However, after watching the entire video (shared by the Royal Family on Instagram), we were left with one surprising takeaway: the color scheme of Sophie's home is quite different than that of other royal family members. OK, maybe we’re guilty of paying a little too much attention to the decor choices of Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and Princess Anne, that's what royally obsessed fans do.

From what we’ve noticed, the other royals love neutral colors (even Princess Diana) and this is one of the first times we’ve seen some brighter hues on the walls of an estate. Behind the 55-year-old are shades of orange and yellow paint, accompanied by some wood furniture and a large mirror in a gold frame (looks like orange is the new beige).

So, Sophie, what other vibrant colors are you hiding in that Bagshot Park estate?
