Simone Biles Rocks Stunning Green Gown for Awards (and Receives a Very Special Honor)

Simone Biles’s latest red carpet outfit has us green with envy.

On Monday, the Olympian attended the 2021 InStyle Awards at the Getty Center in Los Angeles. During the ceremony, she was even presented with a very special honor—the Original Award (for the most original style).

For the occasion, the 24-year-old gymnast looked stunning in an all-green ensemble. Her gown, by designer Aliette, featured ruched draping details, a high slit and bow accents. She topped off her look with Mateo New York drop earrings and a dark green Judith Lieber clutch.

In addition to her award, Biles was also gifted an original poem, titled "The Greatest,” written and read by Amanda Gorman.

“Since she's getting the 'Original' award, I thought the best way to honor her would be through an original poem,” Gorman said in her speech per InStyle before starting the poem. “I am here to celebrate the symbol that is Simone, most well-known for being the most accomplished gymnast of our time," the piece began. "But it is time we see Simone as far more than her 32 medals. She is a champion because she never settles for less than the rebel she is.”

Following the event, Biles shared a sweet message to Gorman on social media. She captioned a post on Instagram, “Instyle Awards [heart emoji] honored to have received the original award. @amandascgorman presented my award with an original poem she made about me and I was just floored. damn she’s AMAZING.”

Congrats, Simone!
