What do Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sarah Michelle Gellar have in common? Aside from being '90s teen icons, they're also two of the latest celebrities to dye their hair pink while quarantining at home.

Just yesterday, the former vampire slayer took to her Instagram to reveal her new hair in a video saying, "Well, because we're still in quarantine I had to think of a new and creative way to embarrass my children...quarancolor."

With Gellar hopping on the pink hair train, we're officially calling the rosy hue this spring's trendiest hair color. (Also see Dua LipaRicky Martin and Elle Fanning, who debuted her peachy-pink strands on Instagram Stories a few weeks ago.)

And if you're wondering why pink and not any other shade of the rainbow, we're guessing it has something to do with how forgiving it is on most skin tones. Plus, unlike, say blue or green, the soft shade fades faster and is less likely to stain your strands afterward.

Still on the fence? Try a temporary tint to see if the color is right for you before going all in. We're obsessed with Kristin Ess's Rose Gold spray, which washes out in a few shampoos.

Buy it ($12)
