Jennifer Love Hewitt Just Dyed Her Hair Pink, Because Why Not?

While some of us are contemplating cutting our own bangs (ahem, Miley Cyrus and her mullet), Jennifer Love Hewitt is taking this period of social distancing as the ultimate opportunity to try out a bold new hair color.

The 41-year-old 9-1-1 star revealed on her personal Instagram last week that after some careful consideration, she’s decided to pursue her dream of having pink hair. Hey, if ever there was a time to try out an unexpected look, it’s definitely now (ya know, within reason).

Hewitt shared a photo of herself with brand-new magenta locks and a very happy face, writing, “The smile of a girl who just did at home hot pink highlights because what else can I do right now!”

She went on to thank vegan and cruelty-free beauty line Lime Crime Makeup for sending her what appears to be the brand’s pastel baby pink Unicorn Hair tint, which is sadly now sold-out. She called the product “easy and so fun” and apologized to her hairstylist, Nikki Lee of Nine Zero One Salon in Los Angeles. “Don’t be mad LOL,” she urged Lee. “I really miss you.”

Hewitt also pitched a little idea to the 9-1-1 writers, too. “Hey @911onfox new look for Maddie?!,” she quipped, referencing her character on the show.

In case you need some reference, here’s what her hair looked like before she went pink.

The actress isn’t the first celeb to try out a new look while social distancing. Cyrus cut her own mullet, Pink freshened up her pixie cut and Elle Fanning even dyed her locks rose gold.

For now, we urge you to follow Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness’s advice and leave your poor hair alone.
