The slideshow has three photos—the first shows Witherspoon casually holding a pretzel, followed by a snap of her taking a bite. The final pic shows the actress’s reaction to the carb-filled treat, and well, her face says it all.
She captioned the post, “I call this series ‘the joy of carbs’ @themorningshow,” along with a pretzel emoji.
Although a release date has yet to be announced, The Morning Show is set to premiere sometime this fall on the new streaming service, Apple TV+. Not much is known about the plot, though the first-look trailer gives us an idea of what to expect.
The beginning of the clip features seasoned TV anchor Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) revealing some “sad” and “upsetting” news: Her husband and co-host, Mitch Kessler (Steve Carell), has been fired after indisputable allegations were filed against him.
As a result, the TV station undergoes an “epic rebirth” and brings in a young new reporter, Bradley Jackson (Witherspoon), who becomes Alex’s right-hand gal.
So, what do carbs have to do with The Morning Show? We have absolutely no idea, but we’re all for it.
