The clip opens on seasoned TV anchor Alex Levy (Aniston) revealing some “sad” and “upsetting” news: Her husband and co-host, Mitch Kessler (Carell), has been fired after indisputable allegations were filed against him.
“My life just ended for no good reason,” Mitch says before destroying his mounted television.
When the TV station undergoes an “epic rebirth,” they bring in a young new reporter, Bradley Jackson (Witherspoon), who wins over the audience with her genuine approach.
“Most people want to trust that the person that is telling them about the world is an honest person,” Bradley tells Alex in an on-camera interview. And then adds, “Like you.”
So, will Bradley get her big break? And will it come at the cost of Alex’s job? Guess we’ll have to wait until Apple releases The Morning Show, which will premiere on the company’s all-new streaming service, Apple TV+.
