Reese Witherspoon Says She Doesn't See the Resemblance Between Herself & Her Daughter

There’s only one person who doesn’t see the resemblance between Reese Witherspoon and her daughter, Ava—and that person is Reese Witherspoon.

The Morning Show actress, 46, appeared on a recent episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna to promote her all-new children’s book, Busy Betty. Witherspoon also revealed that she doesn’t see the resemblance between herself and her 23-year-old daughter.

During the installment, Witherspoon referred to a photo of herself and Ava. This prompted co-host Jenna Bush Hager to address the resemblance. “Wait, y’all are twins,” she said. To our surprise, Witherspoon disagreed with Hager. “[Ava] and I don’t see it that much,” the Big Little Lies star admitted.

Witherspoon revealed that her relationship with Ava is completely different than that with her two sons, Deacon (18) and Tennessee (10). “You establish a different relationship,” she said. “First of all, you’re managing them a lot when they’re little, and it’s very physical. And then it’s more emotional support. And suggestions, not telling them what to do when they get a little bit older.”

The Legally Blonde star also admitted that her parenting style has changed over time, adding, “You have to really nurture your adult relationship with your children too. And give them respect and space to become who they are, not who you want them to be.”

As for the resemblance between Witherspoon and Ava, we’ll have to agree to disagree.
