Reese Witherspoon Demanded a ‘Big Little Lies’ x ‘Game of Thrones’ Crossover on Twitter—and ‘GoT’ Just Responded

ICYMI: A widely detested queen (*cough, Cersei*) met her demise in the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones. And now that Cersei (Lena Headey) is done presiding over King’s Landing, Reese Witherspoon has an idea for her next gig.

The 43-year-old Oscar winner invited Cersei to join herself and the ladies of Monterey on Big Little Lies.

It all started when Witherspoon shared a pic on Twitter of the Big Little Lies cast with Cersei Lannister photoshopped into their circle.

Witherspoon captioned the pic, “I’m just saying…she’d fit in really well in Monterey #BigLittleLies #Monterey6 @IAmLenaHeadey @HBO,” referencing the group’s “Monterey Five” moniker that was revealed in the season two trailer.

Fans were quick to photoshop pics of Witherspoon onto the Iron Throne and drum up side-by-side images of Cersei and Renata (Laura Dern) drinking wine to further the Big Little Lies star’s point.

Unfortunately, the 45-year-old Game of Thrones star hasn’t been active on Twitter since 2017 (according to her profile), so chances are she hasn’t yet seen Witherspoon’s kind invitation.

So, Witherspoon then took her campaign to Instagram. There she asked HBO for a Game of Thrones and Big Little Lies crossover via Instagram Stories.

“We bend the knee to House Mackenzie #GameofThrones #BigLittleLies,” the show’s Twitter account responded. That’s not exactly an answer, but it is entertaining. 

Witherspoon quickly responded, pointing out a missed pun opportunity.
