Lena Headey & Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Clearly Had Way Too Much Fun on the ‘Game of Thrones’ Set

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

Lena Headey and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau know how to give a proper Game of Thrones send-off.

The actors, who played Cersei and Jaime Lannister, respectively, on Game of Thrones until they met their mutual (anticlimactic) demise in the penultimate episode this past Sunday, celebrated the end of an era on Instagram yesterday.

How? Well, Headey (45) and Coster-Waldau (48) went the opposite route of their oh-so-serious characters and shared a series of goofy behind-the-scenes selfies.

Headey kicked things off and shared a snap of herself and Coster-Waldau wearing what appear to be prophylactics on their heads. (Ok, they’re not, but that’s what they look like.)

She captioned the photo, “When @nikolajwilliamcw and I wore jellyfish…I f***ing love you ya big weirdo.” She didn’t explain said jellyfish, but it’s safe to assume they serve some CGI purpose.

Then, Coster-Waldau followed suit and shared a slideshow of himself and his sister/lover in costume and making silly faces.

He penned a sweet note to his co-star, writing, “The best, sweetest most wonderful sister from another mother @iamlenaheadey. That was a fun decade.”

Judging from the ceiling, green screen behind them, their costumes and the wound on Coster-Waldau’s face, the photos look to have been taken while filming their final scene together. So that’s how actors decompress between heavy scenes…

Headey commented on the post with five beating heart emojis. Even Pilou Asbaek, who played Euron Greyjoy in the series until he also died in episode five, got in on the fun. He wrote, “Not your baby!!” with three laughing-crying emojis. Classic.

Lannisters always repay their debts and, it seems, take cheeky behind-the-scenes selfies.
