Lena Headey Shares Rare Details About the Final Days of ‘Game of Thrones’

Lena Headey is opening up about the eighth (and final) season of Game of Thrones.

The 45-year-old actress appeared on yesterday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where she discussed everything from the script to which character she’s rooting for.

In the clip, Headey addresses the end of GoT and reveals that she wasn’t the last cast member standing. “I was, like, the 12th one out,” she says before debunking any potential rumors, “That’s not giving anything away.”

Frustrated, Kimmel went on to say what we’re all thinking, adding, “It’s been like ten years since the last season, I want it. I want it already. I’m impatient. What takes them so long?”

This prompted Headey to talk about the show’s filming process and how each cast member is given all the scripts at once.

“They usually give us all of them, and if anyone says they don’t flip to the end, they’re lying,” she added, referring to the show’s tendency to kill off main characters.

Headey also confirmed that she’s still Team Cersei. When Kimmel asked if she’s rooting for her character, she responded, “Somebody has to.”

Although we don’t know much about the new season, we do know it will begin with Queen Daenerys’s (Emilia Clarke) royal procession as she, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) arrive at Winterfell. In addition to the movie-length episodes, season eight will also feature an epic fight scene that puts the Battle of the Bastards to shame.

Let the games begin. Game of Thrones will return to HBO on April 14.
