Did Queen Máxima of the Netherlands Just Accidentally Reveal the Gender of Princess Eugenie’s Baby?

Today is a great day for three reasons: First, it’s Friday. Second, there’s another royal baby on the way. And third, the Queen of Netherlands may have just revealed that child’s gender.

ICYMI: Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, announced early this morning that they are expecting their first child together. The couple shared the happy news in an adorable Instagram post. “Jack and I are so excited for early 2021....[baby emoji],” the Princess of York captioned a slideshow of photos. In the first pic, we see Eugenie holding up a pair of tiny koala slippers, while the second features the royal couple smiling and posing for the camera.

It wasn’t long before friends, family and fans flooded the comments section with their kind words of support. However, there was one comment in particular that really caught our attention. Queen Máxima of the Netherlands’s note left us speculating about the baby’s gender. She wrote, “Congratulations [blue heart emoji].” We repeat, Blue. Heart. Emoji.

Since the baby is set to be born in “early 2021” it’s highly likely that the couple already knows the gender. However, since neither of the soon-to-be parents has officially commented on the matter, we’re taking this emoji with a grain of salt for now. Also, like, are Eugenie and the Queen of the Netherlands even that close?!

Queen Máxima wasn’t the only royal celebrating the 30-year-old’s big news. Queen Elizabeth shared her own sweet tribute to the duo on the official Royal Family’s Instagram account. “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021,” the caption read. “The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news.”

This baby (boy?) is so loved already.
