Prince William & Kate Middleton Just Visited the Same Mosque as Princess Diana

Earlier this week, Prince William and Kate Middleton met with the Pakistani prime minister, Imran Khan, who is an old friend of Princess Diana. And now, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are continuing to follow in the late royal’s footsteps.

Today, Prince William and Middleton visited the Badshahi mosque in Lahore. The duchess wore a turquoise shalwar kameez by designer Maheen Khan, which featured gold details along the neckline and a matching headscarf. The prince opted for a classic linen suit (natch).

The mosque holds a special place in the couple’s hearts, since Princess Diana visited the same place when she toured Pakistan in 1991.

The royal wore a green coatdress by Catherine Walker, which just so happens to be one of Middleton’s favorite designers. Similar to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Di went barefoot in honor of Pakistani tradition.

While there, Prince William and Middleton were greeted by Imam Abdul Kabir Azad and Fakir Aijazuddin, the honorary British consul. After admiring the square, the royals met with a group of scholars and religious leaders, and we’re getting major déjà vu.

The duke and duchess’s royal tour of Pakistan will conclude tomorrow, October 18. The trip was requested by Britain’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office and follows in the footsteps of previous Pakistan tours carried out by Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

Welp, we love this so much.
