Kate Middleton Channels Princess Diana in Blue Catherine Walker Ensemble

This brand-new photo proves that Kate Middleton’s wardrobe during the royal tour of Pakistan won’t disappoint.

Earlier today, the Duchess of Cambridge, 37, kicked off the trip with a visit to the Kur Khan air base alongside her husband, Prince William. Middleton wore a blue ombre shalwar kameez, which is a traditional Pakistani outfit.

While the look perfectly accents her petite frame, we couldn’t help but notice that it bears a striking resemblance to what Princess Diana wore when she visited Pakistan back in 1996.

Middleton’s dress was designed by Catherine Walker and features long sleeves, a draped neck and subtle ombre that gradually gets darker toward the bottom of the gown. She wore the frock over a pair of matching trousers, just like Princess Diana did in the ’90s.

Similar to Middleton, Princess Di wore a baby-blue gown over a pair of pants.

Middleton’s royal tour of Pakistan will take place from October 14 to October 18. The trip was requested by Britain’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office and will follow in the footsteps of previous Pakistan tours carried out by Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles in 2006, Princess Diana in 1996 (duh) and Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in both 1961 and 1997.

One thing’s for sure: Blue is definitely Middleton’s color.
