Prince William Just Tagged His Location on Instagram and It's...Interesting to Say the Least

Prince William is trying to save the world and he’s doing it from the best location possible—Planet Earth. Allow us to explain.

ICYMI: The Duke of Cambridge launched his latest environmental initiative, called the Earthshot Prize, on Thursday. The new program is offering $65 million to provide “solutions to the world’s greatest environmental problems” over the next ten years.

To tease the project, the 38-year-old royal shared a clip on Instagram of himself sitting down for a chat alongside Sir David Attenborough (yes, the Sir David). In the video, the duo discussed the inspiration for the program as well as the importance of climate change and conservation. William also introduced viewers to the council behind the initiative.

However, it was one tiny detail from the post that really caught our attention. Prince William (or the members of his social media team) tagged the video’s location as “Planet Earth.” Not only does this make sense, because he is promoting the biggest environmental initiative in royal history, but “Planet Earth” is also the name of a popular series in which Attenborough is the narrator. We see what you did there.

According to Kensington Palace, the ambitious program (which was first introduced at the beginning of 2020) will give five awards of $1.3 million each year, promoting over 50 solutions to the world’s most challenging environmental problems. An annual ceremony in which the winning recipients will get their awards will also take place in cities around the world.

Who knew Prince William was so witty when it came to social media? His team should allow him to run it more often.
