Hold the Phone: Prince Harry’s Real Name Isn’t Harry

Just when you thought it was a normal Friday, a surprising revelation comes to light: Prince Harry’s real name isn’t actually Harry.

As Cosmopolitan points out, Prince Harry was born Henry Charles Albert David, aka Prince Henry of Wales. As you can see, none of those names are Harry. Need proof that the Duke of Sussex is actually a Henry? Well, just take a look at his engagement announcement.

Yep, it plainly reads, “His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle are engaged to be married,” but inexplicably refers to him as Prince Harry throughout the rest of the memo.

To be fair, Harry is a diminutive of Henry, so at some point Princess Diana and Prince Charles must have decided they liked the cool casualness of Harry.

The more you know.
