‘Prince Harry’ Makes a Shout-Out Video for His Unborn Child in New ‘SNL’ Sketch

In honor of the impending arrival of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first child, Saturday Night Live is teasing a glimpse of what’s to come.

Over the weekend, the series debuted a brand-new skit in which Prince Harry (Mikey Day) makes a special video for his unborn child, and—to no surprise—it didn’t disappoint.

In the clip, Prince Harry (aka the “ginger of Windsor”) begins by explaining the purpose of the video, saying, “I am making this video for you, my future child, to watch when you’re older.”

Since the child’s birth will be private, Harry is filming the footage at Markle’s baby shower, so friends and family can share their well wishes for the soon-to-be royal. After introducing his dad, Prince Charles, the duke reveals that not everyone is worthy of being on camera.

“Oh, no. There’s James Corden [Aidy Bryant]. He’s been at a ten since he got here,” Prince Harry says in the clip. “Don’t let him see the camera, he’ll be on us all night, all right?”

While we applaud SNL for nailing Prince William’s hair—or lack thereof—the real fun begins when Prince Harry introduces Kate Middleton (Cecily Strong) and addresses the recent feud rumors between her and Markle.

“Papers keep saying she’s ‘feuding’ with your mom, but she’s not,” Prince Harry tells the camera.

Cut to Middleton shakily sipping her Champagne as she speaks through clenched teeth: “No, not at all! We’re not feuding. Why would we be? Because I’ve followed all the strict rules and she doesn’t have to, at all?!”

Well played, SNL. Well played.
