Just because Prince Harry was raised by the royal family doesn’t mean he didn’t have chores like the rest of us. In fact, the Duke of Sussex, 39, previously revealed a relatable fact about his chore routine.

In a newly resurfaced excerpt from his memoir, Spare, Prince Harry debunked gossip about his supposed glamorous bachelor life. The royal revealed that he shopped at discount stores—like T.K. Maxx (which is the British version of T.J. Maxx)—and did his own laundry while living at Kensington Palace.

“Besides my own laundry (often laid out to dry on my radiators) I did my own chores, my own cooking, my own food shopping,” he wrote.

Prince Harry admitted that people are often surprised by this. He even passed the time by watching reruns of Friends. “People often speculated that I was clinging to my bachelor life because it was so glamorous,” he added. “Many evenings I’d think: If only they could see me now. Then I’d go back to folding my underwear and watching ‘The One with Monica and Chandler’s Wedding.'”

In Spare, Prince Harry also discussed the “supremely stupid” decision he made when he was a student at Eton. Prince Harry recalled the time he let his classmates shave his head in what was supposed to be a harmless prank. He wrote, “My hair never fully recovered after letting my Eton classmates shave it off.”
