Prince George & Princess Charlotte Just Made a Heart-Covered Mother’s Day Cake and We Have a Pic of the Results

It's Mother's Day in the United Kingdom and Kate Middleton just received a special surprise from her kids.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte (with a little help from 2-year-old Prince Louis) crafted a vibrant cake to celebrate their mother.

The sugary gift was shared on the @kensingtonroyal Instagram account, where they wrote: "Celebrating two other special mothers today. Cake made by George, Charlotte and Louis."

Middleton's Mother's Day dessert was a simple pound cake with white frosting decorating the top and filling the two circular layers. The royal children added rainbow sprinkles and candies, in addition to six pipe cleaner hearts that pop out of the middle.

Along with the sweet snap, the post included a second, more vintage photo. In this image, we see a young Kate Middleton holding the hand of her mother, Carole. Middleton's mother turned sixty-six early this year, and she is the grandmother to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, as well as to Arthur Matthews, the child of Middleton's sister, Pippa.

While the post honored these two women, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge didn't forget Princess Diana. This morning, Middleton offered a rare glimpse into the heartwarming cards that the Cambridge children make for their "Granny Diana" every year. Middleton wrote, "Each year on Mother’s Day, George, Charlotte and Louis make cards remembering their Granny, Diana, for William."

We wish the Cambridges a very happy Mother's Day!
