Mindy Kaling recently shared a rare pic of her daughter (and managed to reveal a glimpse of her colorful home decor while she was at it).
The 41-year-old mom shared a sweet photo of herself and her two-year-old, Katherine (Kit, for short), on Instagram. In the caption, she explained that her daughter is her reason for voting in this year’s U.S. election.
She wrote, “#imvotingfor my daughter Kit. I want her to grow up with leaders who think and speak with integrity. Who show that measured and thoughtful responses are not a sign of weakness. I want her to see that her elected leaders can be the children of immigrants, as her mom is. But most importantly, I want her to see a President and Vice President whose capacity for empathy is their greatest quality.”
Actress Priyanka Chopra responded with praise hands and heart eyes emojis while Natalie Portman wrote, “Yes Mindy. Thank you for this.”
Katherine is seen in patterned pajamas as she snuggles with her mom, who's sporting a casual, all-black ensemble. The mother-daughter duo appear to be in Kaling's living room, which features a bright fuchsia couch, bright green curtains, an embroidered throw pillow, a pink and white lamp and a colorful rug (clearly, Kaling loves her pinks).
The Mindy Project star recently revealed that she secretly gave birth to her second child, a son, in September. In an episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, she said, "I gave birth to a baby boy on September 3rd. This is news to a lot of people. It's true!"
She continued, "His name is Spencer. I forgot the most important part of it."
It comes as no surprise that the mother of two kept her second pregnancy under wraps, since she's known for maintaining privacy when it comes to her personal life. But even so, we'll keep enjoying the few glimpses that we do get of her daughter on Instagram, whether it's a pic of them cuddling or a photo of their sparkly matching shoes.
