Meghan Markle Secretly Visited Her Favorite Animal Charity Before Leaving for Canada

Looks like Meghan Markle was busier than we thought during her short time in London. Yep, before she left the U.K. to begin her new life in Canada, the former HRH stopped to check in on her furry friends at The Mayhew.

The official SussexRoyal Instagram revealed Wednesday that Meghan privately visited the organization—an animal charity dedicated to improving the lives of cats and dogs around the world—a few weeks ago.

“Earlier this month, The Duchess of Sussex popped in to see the amazing people at Mayhew to hear about the incredible progress made throughout the festive period,” part of the caption read.

The photos from the visit include a shot of the 38-year-old entering the facility and another of her squatting down to pet a German shepherd named Khan.

Markle is a long-time supporter of the cause and was named Patron at the beginning of 2019. The animal organization works to help rescue animals as well as improve the lives of both the pets and their new owners.

The royal couple's love of animals makes this cause a perfect fit. Before becoming the Duchess of Sussex, Markle owned two rescue dogs, Beagle and Guy. The couple also adopted a pup named Oz, last August.

We hope everyone (especially our four-legged friends) is adjusting to Canadian life.
