Meghan Markle Just Signed a Personal Note in a *Very* Unique Way

When it comes to writing letters, we’ve seen a variety of signatures from Meghan Markle (“Meghan” and the “Duchess of Sussex,” to name a few). However, her most recent note included something a little less familiar...and we have questions.

ICYMI: In anticipation of the release of her new children’s book, The Bench, the Duchess of Sussex sent copies to her close family and friends including personalized notes inside.

On Thursday, photographer Gray Malin shared a clip of the copy he received from his pal on his Instagram account. In the video, he shows fans and followers the inside cover of the story, which features a sweet illustration and personalized note which reads, “From one parent to another—all my love from my family to yours. As ever, Meghan.”

And while we were immediately distracted by the gorgeous illustration of Harry and Archie at the bottom of the page, we almost overlooked the interesting way she signed the message: “As ever.” This is definitely the first time we’ve seen the duchess sign off a letter this way (although, it’s not often we get a glimpse at personalized messages). So you can say it took us by surprise.

After doing some research, per Emily Post, we learned that “as ever” is useful in closing a letter to someone with whom you may not be close or haven't seen for some time. Interesting. Of course, we don’t know the ins and outs of the duo’s relationship other than the fact that it dates back to Markle’s Suits days (as can be seen on the Gray Malin website).

We realize we’re probably looking into the phrase a little bit too in-depth. However, it’s only because we're trying to figure out how to use it ourselves.

As ever, PureWow.
