EXCLUSIVE: Who Does ‘Game of Thrones’ Superfan Kristen Bell Want on the Iron Throne? ‘It Feels Like I’m Picking Between My Kids!’

The struggle is real for Game of Thrones fans. As we get closer and closer to the series finale, and characters get more and more relentless in their quest for the Iron Throne, we have to ask ourselves who would best rule Westeros. It’s a question that even Game of Thrones superfan Kristen Bell struggles with.

PureWow sat down to talk all things Thrones with the 38-year-old Veronica Mars star during an event with her partner, American Express Blue Cash Preferred Card (you get cash back on streaming subscriptions—’nuff said). So, who is Bell rooting for to take the Iron Throne? Will it be the Mother of Dragons (Bell did dress up as Viserion at her GoT watch party, seen below) or the former King in the North?

“I’m conflicted because first of all, the Iron Throne has always seemed to be a bit of a dictatorship and I’m not down with that,” she began.

Even so, she knows someone has to rise to the occasion. Bell weighed in on the list of contenders, saying, “I wish Arya [Maisie Williams] wanted to lead. I think Jon [Kit Harington] is probably the best suited because Daenerys [Emilia Clarke] is rubbing everyone the wrong way right now.”

Daenerys’s mad queen vibes aside, Bell does appreciate how series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have fleshed out her character in the final season: “I love that they did not take the woman and make her have so much compassion that she’s willing to share everything. No, she has worked. If you work your butt off for a job and a dude takes it, you don’t go, ‘That’s great. I’m so happy for you,’ and mean it. You’re like, ‘That is my job,’” she explained. Amen, sister.

On the other hand, Bell argues, “Jon is almost more willing to share, so I do feel like he’s better suited to be on the Iron Throne.”

So, what’s the end result? Overwhelmed, Bell bent over in exasperation and groaned, “I don’t know. It feels like I’m picking between my kids.”

Our thoughts exactly, Kristen.
