Kelly Ripa Looked Like She Was ‘Ready for Takeoff’ on Today’s ‘Live’

Another day, another episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan packed with surprises.

Wednesday’s installment of the hit morning show kicked off with Kelly Ripa making a grand entrance. And while that’s nothing unusual, it was her unique ensemble that really caught our attention. The 50-year-old television personality opted for bright orange NASA spacesuit. (Yep, we’re not joking).

Producers shared their daily behind-the-scenes clip on the series on Live’s official IG account. “We’re ready for take off!” they captioned the footage which shows Ripa modeling her outfit while making her way to the stage.

“I hope you miss me. I hope you all miss me,” Ripa says in the video before her co-host, Ryan Seacrest, adds, “We’re going to lose her today—she’s going into orbit.”

As you probably guessed, the mother of three isn’t actually heading to outer space. The decision to dress as an astronaut was because Sir Richard Branson paid a visit to the set to talk about his recent historic flight into space. (This makes more sense now.)

Of course, we weren’t the only ones loving this new look. Fans and followers quickly filled the comments section with praise and compliments (while a few users were simply confused). One person wrote, “Love the show ..you look great,” while another added, “Awesome! Love it! You would look great in space.”

In addition to Branson, Curtin “50 Cent” Jackson made an appearance to discuss his new series, Raising Kanan. Actress Maitreyi Ramakrishnan also opened up about her role in the comedy series Never Have I Ever.
