Kelly Ripa’s Take on the 2020 Challenge Is the Best (And Most Relatable) We’ve Seen

Kelly Ripa is one of the latest celebs to participate in the viral social media 2020 challenge. However, she put her own spin on it.

ICYMI: The new memes were created to show the changes in emotions over the last few months due to the coronavirus pandemic. The majority of them start with a happy photo for January and gradually decline into something more sad, angry or distraught for August and September.

But instead of posting a series of emotions or moods for her Instagram calendar, the 49-year-old star opted to show off the progression of her roots. In the January slot, we see the actress looking glam with not a silver strand in sight. Unfortunately, by July, August and September, things take a turn for the grey.

“Perhaps this meme is a week old at this point… but does that really compare to these roots?” the Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host captioned the post. “My version of the #2020Calendar is just...real….” Boy, can we relate.

Ripa isn’t the first Hollywood star to take part in the challenge. Last week, Reese Witherspoon jumped on the bandwagon, sharing her calendar which featured a very optimistic Elle Woods from Legally Blonde in the January slot and a lost and confused Cheryl Strayed from Wild for June through September. “Yup. #2020,” she captioned the collage.

And for her January pic, Mindy Kaling opted for a gorgeous shot of herself on the red carpet and ended with a shot of Kelly Kapour from The Office. Not to mention, there were two other uses of her NBC comedy character featured in the post. “Pretty much. Inspired by @reesewitherspoon,” Kaling wrote alongside the collage.

And while we love all of these posts, we’re going to have to say that Ripa’s is our favorite (and most relatable) of the bunch.
