Mindy Kaling and Reese Witherspoon Shared Their 2020 Calendars on Instagram and...Same

If you’ve been on Instagram at all over the past few days, you’ve probably noticed a handful of posts featuring calendar collages of moods throughout 2020.

The new memes were created to show the changes in emotions over the last few months due to the coronavirus pandemic. The majority of them start with a happy photo for January and gradually decline into something more sad, angry or distraught for August and September.

Naturally, as the new social media trend continues to gain speed, some of our favorite Hollywood stars are getting in on the action, including Mindy Kaling and Reese Witherspoon. And we’re not going to lie, they’re both spot on.

The Big Little Lies actress was first to jump on the bandwagon, sharing her calendar which featured a very optimistic Elle Woods from Legally Blonde in the January slot and a lost and confused Cheryl Strayed from Wild for June through September. “Yup. #2020,” she captioned the collage.

Naturally, her post gained a ton of attention online and even inspired pal Kaling to create a calendar of her own. For her January pic, the Mindy Project star opted for a gorgeous shot of herself on the red carpet. She ended with a shot of Kelly Kapour from The Office (specifically, the one when she was on her strict liquid diet). Not to mention, there were two other uses of her NBC comedy character featured in the post. “Pretty much. Inspired by @reesewitherspoon,” Kaling wrote alongside the post.

In a world where memes and social media trends can get excessive, this is one we can totally get behind.
