Over the weekend, Jessica Simpson’s youngest child, Birdie Mae, celebrated her third birthday with a blowout Barbie-theme bash any kid (or 30-year-old adult woman) would be jealous of. Seriously, the mom of three pulled out all the stops for the event—even better, Simpson posted all about it on Instagram.

Birdie’s birthday bash included a dress-up station with an abundance of tutus and fairy wings to choose from by Tutu Du Monde, a Barbie box photo station and even a Barbie Dreamhouse play area. Massive pastel rainbow balloon arches guided guests through Simpson’s gorgeous backyard, which was dotted with pink floral displays. According to E! News, guests (including three of Kim Kardashian’s kids, North, Chicago and Psalm) could design their own custom word bracelets from Little Words Project, get their hair styled at a braid bar or pick up tutu-inspired cotton candy treats at a booth by Twister for Sugar.
As for the author and fashion mogul, Simpson sported a Barbie-inspired outfit of her own, complete with oversize pink sunglasses and enviable beach waves. “Birdie’s dream house party was tutu cute! I can’t believe our girl is 3!” the singer captioned one of her posts, before going on to thank Wham Bam Events for helping her and husband Eric Johnson to plan their daughter’s fantastic plastic party.
While Barbie will always be a spot-on theme for a kids birthday bash (especially after the brand’s recent moves to make Barbie and her gang more inclusive), the must-have toy feels even more relevant in 2022 as information about a live-action Barbie movie continues to trickle out tidbit by tidbit. Right now we know very little, except that it will be directed by Greta Gerwig and star Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as her boyfriend Ken. And, presumably, that Jessica Simpson and Birdie will be there to see it as soon as it comes out.
Until then, Birdie and her siblings will have to make do with the numerous animated Barbie films, though something tells us they won’t have a problem with that at all. Happy Birthday, Birdie! And Jessica, please come plan our next event?
