You’ll Never Believe Where Jennifer Lopez Took Alex Rodriguez to Prepare for ‘Hustlers’

When it came to her upcoming film Hustlers, Jennifer Lopez went above and beyond to understand her role as a con-artist-slash-stripper named Ramona.

In a recent interview with Vulture, writer-director Lorene Scafaria revealed that the 49-year-old singer took her character preparation to an entirely new level. In fact, J.Lo enlisted the help of her fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, and stopped by the local strip club.

“She and Alex went and visited a strip club, and she was able to give me some…insights,” Scafaria said.

Although Lopez is a fab dancer, the filmmaker also confirmed that the actress went through extensive pole dancing training prior to the movie, which follows a group of former strip club employees who rebel against their Wall Street clients.

“She’s obviously such an unbelievable dancer, but she trained so hard-core for this,” Scafaria continued. “Pole dancing is not like anything else. It required muscles you don’t know you have. So, we did treat it a little bit like a sports movie in that way.”

As for casting the upcoming drama, Scafaria admitted that it was a no-brainer choosing Lopez, adding, “The moment I finished the script, I realized, ‘Oh, my God. Ramona is Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer Lopez is Ramona. The two of them are the same; they have all of these similar qualities. It has to be her.’”
