What happens when you bring two of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu, together? You get a film about savvy (and bada**) former strippers apparently. Yeah, we’re excited.
Here’s what you need to know: The film, titled Hustlers, is based on “The Hustlers at Scores,” an article written by Jessica Pressler for New York magazine back in 2015. The story (dubbed a “modern Robin Hood story”) focuses on two revenge-seeking former strippers who band together and steal from “rich and pathetic men” for the benefit of themselves.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the adaptation will be set in New York City during a financial crisis (hence the ladies teaming up for a heist).
News broke back in August that Lopez would be starring in Annapurna Pictures’ Hustlers—which ended up falling through in October. But it looks like it was quickly picked up by STX and, not too long after, the Crazy Rich Asians star joined the team.
