Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are starting the year off right.
The engaged couple opted to ring in the New Year (and decade!) with a look back at 2019, a year that brought them each a lot of happiness. Both the 50-year-old “Ain’t Your Mama” singer and the 44-year-old former New York Yankees hitter shared year in review videos on Instagram that offered a special never-before-seen glimpse into their intimate beach engagement.
Rodriguez kicked things off and shared his 2019 highlight reel, writing, “What an amazing year it has been! As 2019 winds down, I am feeling so incredibly grateful and blessed. Looking back on these moments, I can’t help but smile from ear to ear. I am so lucky to be able to spend my life with those I love, doing what I love. Thank you all for following me around on this wonderful journey. Here’s to continued success and happiness in 2020!”
Amidst clips of him trying to dance, lots of kisses with J.Lo, family celebrations and nights out, we see the instant he got down on one knee and how surprised Lopez looked.
The following day, New Year’s Eve, Lopez followed suit and shared her own video montage.
We see her on tour, spending time with her children, and kissing Rodriguez moments after he popped the question. (Suddenly, our eyes are misting.)
Lopez captioned the video, “2019... it’s the last day of a decade...wow...when I think back to 2010... and think of all the things that happened between now and then I smile softly and contently on the inside... because even though some of the tougher moments popped into my head first, I realize I survived them all and they led me into the best time of my life so far.”
She went on to reflect how happy 2019 made her: “I honestly wouldn’t change a thing...I feel stronger and more at peace with who I am now than I ever have... I hope that you all can look back in the same way and enjoy every moment of your journey. Savor it, enjoy it!!!! It’s the 20’s. Get ready to roar!!! And laugh and dance and live live live!”
We have a feeling their 2020 will be just as magical. Can you say wedding bells?
