This week, we were blessed to find out that the whole Lizzie McGuire family is set to return for the reboot, which made us want even more behind-the-scenes content.
Well, Hilary Duff gave us just that with a first look at herself as a grown-up Lizzie McGuire on her Instagram. She celebrated the first day of filming in New York City with the post and, honestly, we're just counting down until we can watch the new series.
She captioned the post, "Happy first LIZZIE day!!!!! NYCâŠcue the rain #LizzieMcGuire"
The Younger star was all smiles, wearing a black-and-gold ensemble that young Lizzie would definitely approve of, with Washington Square Park in the background. The sneak peek garnered more than 800,000 likes from her excited fans, who are more than ready to put their butterfly clips and flare jeans back on.
Disney+, home to the reboot, also posted another exclusive moment with Duff holding what appears to be a huge stuffed alpaca. The 2000s middle schooler never had a dull day (especially becoming an overnight pop star in Italy before entering high school), and adult Lizzie looks like she still has her hands full now.
The reboot will follow Lizzie McGuire in the next chapter of her life in the Big Apple. While the original series dealt with the obstacles of a pre-teen (and teen woes toward the end), the new series will show Lizzie navigating her 30s as an interior decorator's apprentice.
While we're waiting for more deets (especially about Lizzie's two best friends making a return or who's playing her fiancé), we'll just be busy watching reruns.
