Hilary Duff Has Some Bad ‘Lizzie McGuire’ News for Gordo Fans

Hilary Duff has told us all what to expect in the upcoming Lizzie McGuire sequel series, and it doesn’t look good for Team Gordo.

In a recent interview with Vulture, the 31-year-old actress opened up about reviving the character that made her famous more than 15 years ago. While the new version will follow her as she takes on her 30s, it’s important to point out that Lizzie is newly engaged…but not to her high school best friend, Gordo (Adam Lamberg).

While fans were initially disappointed by the news, Duff admitted that it didn’t bother her all that much. “You know what, I don’t know if I was as devastated by that,” she said.

The Younger star went on to say that she feels it depicts a real-life story line, adding, “It’s that one person that you’re like, ‘Was he the one? Is it ever going to be?’ You’re always kind of wondering. We wanted it to hurt everyone a little bit, and it’ll continue to hurt.”

Unfortunately, Duff didn’t say whether Lamberg will appear in the sequel series, but it’s not totally out of the realm of possibility. “I really hope he’s going to be involved,” she continued. “We’ve been planning out the season and coming up with what everything looks like, and it’s so important for him to be there for part of it.”

This new guy has a lot to live up to. The Lizzie McGuire sequel series is expected to premiere sometime next year on the all-new streaming service, Disney+.
