We Finally Have the First Trailer for Lifetime’s New Harry and Meghan Movie (& Yes, It Depicts the Oprah Interview)

Just a few months after we learned that we were getting another Lifetime movie about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, we finally have the first look trailer. And it seems like the film will be covering that groundbreaking interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Called Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace, the film will focus on the couple’s infamous decision to step down as senior members of the royal family. Not only will it highlight several controversial moments that led to their shocking announcement, but it will also offer a glimpse into Prince Harry’s relationship with his dad, Prince Charles, and his brother, Prince William.

Earlier this week, the network released a trailer for the flick on Instagram, which features a clip that mirrors the duo’s tell-all interview. “Not all fairytales have the perfect ending...catch a sneak peek of the upcoming Lifetime Original Movie Harry & Meghan: #EscapingthePalace,” the post’s caption read. Watch the teaser below.

No word on how in-depth the interview scene will go, considering the actual interview lasted over two hours. However, we’re sure it will cover the major topics. As we mentioned above, this isn’t the first time Lifetime has produced a movie about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. In 2018, the network released Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance followed by a sequel, Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal.

The movie is directed by Menhaj Huda (Comedown) and written by Scarlett Lacey (Magnum, P.I.). Merideth Finn (My Sister’s Keeper) and Michele Weiss (The Time Traveler’s Wife) serve as executive producers.

We need more footage (and a release date) ASAP.
