Halle Berry Wishes Her 14-Year-Old Daughter a Happy Birthday in a Heartwarming Tribute

Halle Berry just honored her “earth angel” in the best way possible.

On Wednesday, the Bruised director took to Instagram to celebrate her daughter, Nahla Ariela Aubry. Her eldest daughter, who she shares with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, turned 14 years old.

The 55-year-old actress shared a snapshot of the two strolling on a sandy beach. Though their faces weren’t visible, the mother and daughter walked arm-and-arm while a beautiful sunset was visible in the distance.

“14 years ago, I was blessed to give birth to an ‘Earth Angel’ and I named her Nahla Ariela,” she wrote in the caption. “Humbled by your presence and overjoyed at the same time!”

Some of her celebrity friends also celebrated the teenager’s birthday in the comments section. Empire actress Taraji P. Henson wrote, “14?!?! ALREADY!!!! I can’t. Happy birthday baby girl [red heart emojis].” Producer and screenwriter Lena Waithe commented, “Happy birthday!!!” Even Power star Larenz Tate commented with a slew of heart emojis.

The Moonfall star has tried to keep her children’s lives away from the media spotlight. Berry has a few photos of them on social media, and the ones she does have don't show their faces.

In a 2019 interview with Today, Berry shared her reasoning behind it. “I’ve fought really hard to protect their privacy, and I just want them to have their life and have it be theirs,” she said at the time.

“I just don't want to plaster them all over the internet. That just doesn't feel right for me,” she continued. “They’re gonna do that soon enough. That’s gonna be their life when they grow up, and they will choose when that starts.”

Happy belated birthday, Nahla!
