Drew Barrymore Recreates Scene from ‘E.T.’ with Former Co-Star

Drew Barrymore brought us back to the ‘80s by reuniting with a former cast member from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. *cue the nostalgia*

On a recent episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the actress reunited with Dee Wallace (who played her mother in the sci-fi classic). Wallace made a special appearance on the show and they recounted memorable moments from the 1982 film.

Later, the pair even recreated a scene from the movie in a new IG video. The clip starts with an old snapshot of Wallace holding a young Drew in her arms. Then, the video warps to the present, showing the actresses doing the same exact pose.

Barrymore reposted the video on her personal Instagram page and captioned the post, “Well, this was a truly remarkable surprise."

Fans of the film gushed over the mini-reunion in the comments section. “This made me smile, then giggle, then I teared up! #sentimental #nostalgic,” one person wrote. Another said, “Oh my gosh this is epic!! [hand raised emoji].”

Per Nerdist, Barrymore and Wallace will join director Steven Spielberg (plus Barrymore's onscreen brother Henry Thomas) for an exclusive screening of the movie at the 2022 TCM Classic Film Festival. The cast and crew will reunite for the film’s 40th anniversary.

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial centers around a young boy named Elliot (Thomas), who befriends an alien later called E.T. After being stranded on earth, Elliot’s friends and family work together to return him home before the government intervenes.
