Chip Gaines Ran a Half-Marathon Alongside His Kids & the Photos Are Too Much

Chip Gaines is back in the marathon running game, only this time he’s taking it a little easier.

The 44-year-old Fixer Upper alum completed the Silo District Half Marathon in Waco, Texas, this past Sunday while some members of his family cheered him on from the sidelines. Last year, Gaines ran alongside his go-to woodworker, Clint Harp. This time around, however, he looked no further than the youngest branches of the Gaines family tree.

Gaines and wife Joanna’s 11-year-old daughter, Ella, and 10-month-old son, Crew, joined their dad for the run. (Crew was in a stroller, of course, but you get the idea.) Lucky for us, Joanna shared a slideshow of photos from the event and penned a heartwarming message to participants.

“We are so thankful for and blown away by each and every runner who participated in this year’s #silodistrictmarathon. Watching the grit, the fight, and the spirit of these runners left me speechless. So many of you would tell me who you were running in honor of and I was literally teary eyed the entire time,” she began.

The Homebody author went on to thank Silo District Marathon and Half Marathon participants for helping to raise $300,000 for cancer research and the Brave Like Gabe Foundation.

She wrote, “I was also so proud of @chipgaines and Ella (and baby Crew) for running the half marathon today and killing it! Finally, thank you to the city of Waco and all the law enforcement, volunteers and sponsors that helped make this event possible. We hope to see you next year at the #silodistrictmarathon.”

Chances are Ella and baby Crew didn’t run the whole half-marathon, but they did technically cross the finish line.

Either way, bravo, Gaines family.
