Camilla Parker Bowles Pulled a Classic Prince Harry Move Today

Camilla Parker Bowles horsed around and pulled a Prince Harry during a solo royal engagement today.

The 71-year-old Duchess of Cornwall visited The National Stud (what a name) in Newmarket, England. There, she met a mare named Royal Rascal, some stallions named Time Test, Acclaim and Rajasinghe and opened the horse-breeding farm’s brand-new Stallion Unit. But that wasn’t all. Parker Bowles also mimicked her 34-year-old stepson’s go-to move and we couldn’t help but take notice.

While regarding a sweet 6-week old foal, the duchess placed her left hand in between the buttons of her coatdress (shown above). It’s a move Prince Harry does on the regular (although not in a coatdress). In fact, he even posed for his engagement photos outside Kensington Palace with his hand tucked into his jacket like so.

Harry’s proclivity for this move is mostly regarded as a nervous tick (honestly, it would be uncomfortable to be in front of slews of cameras on the reg). But in Camilla’s case, this editor has a theory: It’s bloody cold in Newmarket and her coatdress doesn’t have pockets.

The weather in Newmarket today is mostly cloudy with scattered showers and, even though it’s currently 54 degrees, reports say it feels like 45. Chances are Camilla is just trying to keep warm without breaking royal protocol.

That’s all well and good, but what would a visit to a horse farm be without some horse hobnobbing? Parker Bowles also fed horses carrots and pet the foals and stallions in addition to mimicking Harry’s hand gesture.

This was the duchess’s first visit to The National Stud since being appointed patron and we’d say it went well, neigh, great (sorry, had to).
