When Brooklyn Beckham planned his extravagant wedding, he had no idea the guest list would cause drama between members of the British royal family. But that’s exactly what happened.
Over the weekend, the 23-year-old son of Victoria and David Beckham tied the knot with his now-wife, Nicola Peltz. The couple hosted an intimate black-tie affair at the bride’s family estate, which is located in Palm Beach, Florida.
The celebrations began on Friday with a cocktail party and trickled into Saturday, where they exchanged vows in a traditional Jewish ceremony. After the nuptials, Brooklyn changed his name on Instagram to “Brooklyn Peltz Beckham.”
Several famous faces were in attendance, including Serena Williams, Eva Longoria and the groom’s siblings: Romeo (19), Cruz (17) and Harper (10).
The couple reportedly invited Prince William and Kate Middleton to the nuptials but excluded Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. (Unfortunately, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge didn’t attend.) The snub is slightly surprising, given that Harry lives in the U.S. and Prince William doesn’t. Still, the distance from California to Florida isn’t drastically closer than that of London, so we’ll let it slide (at least for now).
Rumors aside, let’s talk fashion. Many believed that Victoria would design the bride’s dress…but that wasn’t the case. Instead, Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli led the charge. As CNN points out, the designer embroidered the gown with “an evil eye talisman (a charm intended to ward off the curse of jealousy) and a private message in blue thread.” The traditional dress also featured a massive train that seemed endless.
The groom wore a classic black tailcoat with a matching vest. He completed the look with white details, including a button-down shirt and coordinating bowtie.
